GPPi holds Roundtable Discussion on Humanitarian Action

On 25 February 2009 the Global Public Policy Institute held a Roundtable Discussion entitled “Mutual Respect, Common Interest? Perspectives on Emerging Donors in Humanitarian Aid.” This discussion event is part of GPPi’s “Raising the Bar: Enhancing transatlantic governance of disaster relief and preparedness” project and is co-hosted by GPPi and the Arbeitsstab Humanitäre Hilfe.

The discussion was designed to bring together approximately 40 participants from key emerging donors, established donor countries, academia, and NGOs to discuss the current state of the humanitarian affairs and what role emerging donors currently and could play and what impact their involvement could have on the humanitarian system.
