GPPi publishes policy paper entitled “Supporting Local Ownership in Humanitarian Action”

On 1 July 2009 GPPi published a policy paper entitled, “Supporting Local Ownership in Humanitarian Action.” This policy paper is authored by Béatrice Pouligny, visiting professor at Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

The paper focuses on the need to encourage local ownership as a way to improve humanitarian responses and reduce the impact of crises on affected populations.

This paper is the first in the series of three that are part of the “Raising the Bar: Enhancing transatlantic governance of disaster relief and preparedness” project.
